My name is Jacy Good and I am a survivor of a distracted driving crash that killed both my parents and left me with permanent injuries. I am writing to ask you to donate to We Save Lives.

I may have survived the crash but my injuries are a constant reminder of the results of a deadly choice the teenage driver made the day he killed my parents and injured me.

Before the crash, I was looking at a bright future. I had just graduated from college and was about to start a new job with Habitat for Humanity and a new chapter in my life. I had two loving parents, a wonderful boyfriend, Steve, and a new career. My parents were with me and we were on our way home from graduation when the crash occurred. One minute I was on top of the world and the next I was trapped in a devastating car wreck with both of my parents dead.

Distracted driving is a deadly choice that drivers make and We Save Lives joins forces with organizations around the country to promote anti-distracted driving legislation and education. We do this through:

• public speaking

We need your donations to continue saving lives.

My physical injuries improved but I will always suffer ongoing issues from the traumatic brain injury. My brain doesn’t function the way it used to and I cannot use my left arm and the lower part of my leg. But I can move and I can talk and I can speak out against distracted driving. And I do every chance I get. Steve and I both feel that distracted driving is completely preventable.

That is why I am asking you to give money to We Save Lives. We need your support to prevent this deadly tragedy from happening again and again.
