We Save Lives speaker Darryl Rodgers was honored to have the opportunity to speak at two NC Vision Zero kickoff events. One was in Raleigh, NC, and the other in Greensboro, North Carolina. This video was shot at the Raleigh event.
North Carolina Vision Zero is Governor McCrory’s initiative to bring organizations together in an effort to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries in North Carolina. The goal is to cut roadway fatalities and serious injuries in half over the next fifteen years. The long-term goal is to cut fatalities and serious injuries to zero.
Darryl speak at a variety of venues in an effort to get my son’s story out there. Chase was killed in a wreck in 2014 at the age of 20. Drugs really impacted the choices he made. Ultimately, it was those choices that lead to his death.
Chase loved superheroes, and among his favorites was Spiderman. One of the speeches Darryl likes to give is built around the superhero concept. We are all superheroes, each of us endowed with our own unique super powers. However, there are four superpowers that we all have in common. Those are the power of Choice, the power of Association, the power of Love, and the power of Intervention. Darryl discusses these four super powers and how we can all use them to shape our own futures and make this world a better place to live.
