Sharon’s Story

My mother [Sharon] is a very vibrant, active, caring, loving individual that truly lives life with a purpose and meaning.

Approximately 30 years ago she was rear-ended by an impaired driver. He was at a .210 BAC which at the time was double our legal limit. Upon impact of her vehicle it burst into flames and flew through the intersection and she was trapped inside.

She was burned over 97% of her body with 76% being 3rd degree. I was 8-years-old about to turn 9. She actually came home right before my 9th birthday to die at home.

Our lives were forever changed, the driver’s was just impacted temporarily.

“To do the right thing, it should be a given. If you choose to drink, don’t drive.”
